The Navigator - The answers in the back of the book

I like to think of the Navigator as covering the material that was previously found in the back of the Competent Communication manual. The Navigator is part of the Pathways learning experience, along with the 59 projects currently available in the ten paths.

Every Toastmaster who joined prior to the Pathways rollout received their first manual of ten speech projects.  This Competent Communication manual led you toward a CC award. Besides those speeches, it provided considerable information about Toastmasters.  It is all in there, in the back of the book; the educational program description, meeting roles and responsibilities, your club officer roles.  Good stuff.

For decades, the questions Toastmasters would ask could be answered in the back of the book.
In Pathways, you still want these answers.  The place for the answer is now the Navigator.

Launch from Start page
There is an interactive digital version of the Navigator and a print version.
You can do your own printing from a PDF file.

Viewing the print format online as a PDF provides a search capability.  You can print the entire document from PDF or select pages to print.

You can launch the Navigator interactive version from the Pathways Start Page.

When you choose your first Path, your transcript offers two items; your Path curriculum and the Navigator.

Menu in interactive version

When you open the digital version of the Navigator, there is a menu selector icon in the top left corner.  The last item in the menu is called "Resources". Jump to that section and you'll get a link to open a PDF for the print version of the Navigator.

Much like your curriculum projects, there are times when an online PDF or a printout might work best for you.

I like the interactive version.  You may need to exercise a little patience while browsing through it.  It is a good read when you do go through the entire content.  In a previous post, I recommended the WORK IN MY PROJECTS tutorial videos when getting started with the curriculum projects.  The Navigator is your tutorial for getting started with your Toastmaster club.  It does include information about starting with Pathways.  That makes it a great introductory document for new members and even prospective members.

I like the printout version too.  This might be a good document to have in a binder available at your club meetings.
